Secondary schools admission round for Sept 2025
The new secondary school admission round opened on Thursday, 12 September 2024, for parents of current Year 6 children to apply for a secondary school (Year 7) place for September 2025.https://www.essex.gov.uk/apply-for-a-secondary-school-place if you reside in Essex, this website also has a copy of the secondary school admissions booklet which contains details of all secondary school admission policies.
Please note you do need to apply through the county in which you reside even if you are selecting a school in Essex - here are links to the Cambs and Herts pages.
All of the application information is available on the county websites.

General information
The new secondary school admission round typically runs from Mid September, for parents of current Year 6 children to apply for a secondary school (Year 7) place for the following September.
The statutory national closing date for applications is typically 31st October.
Applications received after this date will be considered late and you may reduce your chance of being offered a place at your preferred school.

National Offer Day (the day on which parents are informed of the secondary school places offered) is 1 March or the next working day should that fall on a weekend/bank holiday
