UPDATED 5 Nov 2021: Reception admissions for academic year starting in September 2022 The primary school (Reception) admission round opens on Monday 8 November 2021, for parents of children to apply for a Reception school place for the academic year that starts in September 2022. The statutory national closing date for applications is 15 January 2022. From 8 November 2021, applications can be made online via www.essex.gov.uk/admissions. (see below for outher county page links).
The Essex website also has a copy of the Primary Education in Essex 2022-23 booklet and the Schools Admissions Policies Directories contain details of all admission policies.

Admission timelines
The deadline for applying for a Reception place for the following September is typically the 15th January.
Applications received after this date are considered late and will reduce your chance of being offered a place at your preferred schools.
National Offer Day (the day on which parents are informed of the primary school places offered) is 16 April or the next working day should that fall on a weekend/bank holiday
