Newton Class enjoyed exploring the Prayer Stations today, which were based on the Easter Story. They were particularly thinking about how they could act on what they have learnt to improve the lives of others. They thought a good starting place was looking for children in the playground who could use a friend to play with.
The class also built on the knowledge they have acquired through their Enquiry Question this term "Is Christianity Still a Strong Religion 2000 years after Jesus was on Earth". They acted out conversations between people from different countries comparing their experiences of whether they can see signs of a strong Christian faith. Super work from all groups, and lots of house points earned!
This half term Newton have been exploring the best way for Muslims to show commitment to God. We also thought about our own commitments and what makes some commitments harder to stick to than others. This display summarises our learning journey.
Class Nightingale have been learning about Judaism this half term and thinking about the relationship Jewish people have with God. They found out about the Mezuzah: (Hebrew word meaning “doorpost”): A small parchment scroll upon which the Hebrew words of the Shema are handwritten by a scribe. Mezuzah scrolls are rolled up and affixed to the doorposts of Jewish homes, designating the home as Jewish and reminding those who live there of their connection to G?d and their heritage. The use of the Mezuzah in Jewish homes makes me ponder on the questions: Is it important to let people know about your beliefs? How do you do that?
